Summer so far, in Seven Quick Takes (hint: BIG news)

refabulous summer

I hope you guys are enjoying your summer!  If you know me at all, or are a regular reader here, you know that I do not enjoy summer. In fact, I hate it so much.  HOWEVER, we've had many blessings, and good and happy things happen over the past couple of months, so I thought I'd share a few of them with you today in Seven Quick Takes. . . .

We had a graduation!

Lizz graduated with honors from UNT with a double major, and a minor, plus a legal certificate.  We are so, so proud of her and all of her hard work!

Donovan and Henry requested bow ties (BOW. TIES.) to wear to Lizz's graduation ceremony, in her school colors -- Mean Green -- and I was happy to oblige.  They were actually super easy to make!  I used this free pattern by Delia Creates to make them.

I'm going to be a grandma!!!!

We are beyond excited!
I want this for my grandma name

That means you'll be seeing lots of baby-related sewing here in the upcoming months.  ;)

AND I'm also going to be a proud aunt again!

I'm so happy for my sister and her family, and I cannot WAIT to snuggle and spoil my little niece.  (Yet another reason you may be seeing some baby goodness on here soon!)

There's a new DIY on the blog, ICYMI. . . .

You can now make your own lavender dryer sachets with my super-easy tutorial!  Be sure to check it out if you missed it. . . .

I failed Ajovy.

Or Ajovy failed me.  Either way, I had such high hopes for this promising new migraine medication.  But wouldn't you know it?

I'm allergic to it.

So now I'm back to square one with my headaches.  This summer has been rough, as summers always are for me.  But I'm looking forward to cooler days in the upcoming weeks, as the pain (and frequency) tends to lighten up a bit as summer wanes.

I've added a few bags to the shop recently. . . .

It feels good to be getting some sewing done again.

Custom orders are keeping me busy, too. . . .

And tonight I'm working on hemming our priest's alb. . . .

I'm a little behind schedule (as always) and I have several other custom orders in the pipeline.  I'm so incredibly blessed to have these orders, and I do love them!  I'm also glad my head is behaving at the moment, so I'm able to make some progress on my sewing to-do list.

I'm so glad you've stopped by.  Check back soon for some tiny baby sewing fun!
Talk to you soon.

I'm linking up at This Ain't the Lyceum tonight.  Be sure to check out the rest of Kelly's blog, too.  You won't be disappointed!
