Closing the refabulous and Acorn doors

Friends, I have decided to close my Etsy shops indefinitely after Christmas.  It was a hard decision to make, since refabulous has been a part of my life for over 9 years.  I have met so many amazing people, and made some lovely and true friends through Etsy, and some customers have actually become my good friends.  Funny how that happens.

My skills were pushed, my imagination grew, my craft honed.  My customers drove my business and creativity, and I very much loved my business.  But at the end of the day, I love my family so much more, and they are my calling.

(Kelsey made these!)

They need me right now, desperately.  Aside from needing more of my time, they need my whole brain, functioning, sharp, and ready.  All of it.   I can't have a divided mind.  While my business is up and running, even part time, it divides my mind between home and business, family and work, and I just can't do it any more.

I know that my recent customers have felt this, and for that, I deeply apologize.  You deserved better.  You deserved faster, better service, and I didn't deliver.  That was a huge clue to me that it was time to hang it up.

Sale time!

So... I'll be closing my shops as of Christmas Day.  However, I have a LOT of inventory, mostly that which was made for the failed craft show attempt and never listed in my shop, so I'm having a flash sale right now on my facebook page!  Please join us over there if you're interested. . . .

all zipper pouches $10 -- includes shipping!

all box bags $20 -- includes priority shipping!

I'm also offering a coupon code for 35% off ANY order in my refabulous shop through Christmas Eve -- and several items are already marked down!

Just enter BYEBYE35 at checkout to receive your discount.  :)
(The coupon code is only good in my Etsy shop... not on the facebook sale.)

What's next?

I'm not sure yet what this means for this blog.  I haven't been blogging in quite a while -- no time nor energy -- and I'm not sure what, or how much, I have much to contribute to the eco-sewing community.  I'll think and pray on it some more, and we shall see.

Oh, I'll still be sewing.  After all, I do have a massive fabric hoard stash to use up.  Maybe I could post about that here; I dunno.  But my sewing and any subsequent blogging will be much less frequent and certainly much less stressed.

So that's it for refabulous and AcornKid.  We had a good run.  Thanks for coming along with me.
Talk to you soon.

  1. You are a wise mommy! Your season for pursuing this will come around again.

    1. Thank you, Tracy. <3 Perhaps it will. All in God's time!

  2. I agree, family comes first. I had to qive up a job I had because my family needed me. One day things will be better and you can pick up where you left off. God bless.

I love hearing from you!
