Another surgery, some birthdays, and a lot of sewing

So this kid did it again.

He underwent a quadricepsplasty on the other leg, with patellar relocation, and all the tendon/ligament grafting that entails, plus hardware removal from his bone surgery back in 2013.  (I'm guessing I didn't blog about the bone surgery, since it took place just 2 weeks after Henry was born and things were so crazy-hectic. Brendan's femurs had begun growing with a twist during the last few years, similar to knock knee, and the hardware, tapped into the growth plate, actually reversed a lot of the twist in the bones.  Pretty cool.)

So once again, the miracle workers at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children took amazing care of my son, and he was discharged in a matter of days.

4 days post-op

We saw his specialist last week for a check-up, and he was incredibly impressed with Brendan's progress and healing.  So much so, that he started Brendan on physical therapy at home, so I think we'll avoid another hospital stay for PT since his muscles have already fired. (!!!yay!!!)  So now, at 4 weeks post-op, he's resting, pretty bored, doing PT twice a day, and letting the CPM machine do its thing.

3 weeks post-op check-up

these clowns came along for the ride to the check-up.

In the meantime. . . .

Brendan celebrated his birthday once we got home. . . .

And then a week later, our eldest daughter came home to celebrate her birthday, AND Donovan's birthday, which are just 2 days apart. . . .

big sis not pictured. :(

And I've been sewing. . .

. . . up a storm since we've been home.  I've sewn gobs of pillows for our living room (and posted a tutorial!  FOR REAL this time.)  And then I sewed up some girly Halloween skirts for the shop. . . .

can be worn with ruffles on the side or in the center. . . available now.

 customizable, and ready to order

And then some cute little pants for Henry. . . .

And I liked them so much, that I listed that design for the shop!

Hopefully I won't go for quite so long without posting again.  I wanted to thank everyone who read or commented on my last post about my hysterectomy.  It meant a lot to me.  :)  Thank you....

Talk to you soon!
